Solidarity Conference in Al-Auja Village, Jordan Valley

Approximately 200 Palestinians, including members of Generations for Peace alongside international and Israeli activists, gathered near the Palestinian town of Al-Auja in the Jordan Valley for a solidarity event supporting Palestinian farmers. Participants listened to a resident describe their daily hardships facing harassment from settlers and the Israeli army. They emphasized the importance of preserving agricultural traditions on their lands to ensure their personal and national existence. An Israeli activist also spoke about daily efforts he and his friends undertake to assist and protect Palestinians in the area, such as accompanying shepherds to prevent harassment by settlers. Hearing about the grievances faced by Palestinian families in these areas was challenging, yet it underscored the importance of standing together in continuous solidarity. Participants also engaged in agricultural activities, planting watermelons and bananas together. The participants returned home from the conference with a renewed commitment and stronger determination to work together for change, aiming to end the occupation and live in peace.
